The Woodley and North Earley(WANE) Community Forum is a voluntary, non-political, non-profit making group covering the whole of Woodley and the Whitegates ward of Earley. The forum works with relevant partner agencies (including Thames Valley Police) and members of the local community to reduce crime and disorder and enhance the environment through planning actions which improve the quality of life, local services and facilities and community safety. Specifically, the forum:
Identifies local policing priorities through public meetings, surveys and discussions with Thames Valley Police, and reviews these priorities throughout the year;
Works to devise a cohesive plan of action and identify the key agencies / stakeholders who will take responsibility for these actions;Reviews progress of actions on each priority at regular intervals throughout the year;
Publicises key messages, encourages participation and recruits volunteers to support community engagement through local associations, newsletters and the forum website.
